Accessibility specification for content development

When accessing the appropriateness and applicability of supporting an Accessibility profile TLF project teams refer to the decision model in the Accessibility Specification v2.1 in conjunction with the Accessibility requirements - v1.0.doc

A rationale for TLFs approach and a commentary on the suitability and feasability of meeting each of the WCAG 1.0 guidleines when developing multimedia is outlined in TLF commentary on the checklist of checkpoints for WCAG 1.0.doc

To support a profile an object must meet all the technical requirements for the given profile as outlined in the Accessibility requirements - v1.0.doc.

Definitions of those requirements and a broad description of the means to meet them are outlined in the developer guidelines for incorporating accessibility in Flash and XHTML; Dev_Guidelines_Flash_V0-6.doc and Dev_Guidelines_XHTML_V0-4.doc

It should be noted that Colour and Device Independence requirements that may outside of the TLF be considered accessibility requirements have been incorporated into the Technical Specification for content development and are mandatory requirements for all content.

The Le@rning Federation expects all LOs to be device and colour independent regardless of whether they are built to support the physical or vision disability profiles. Please refer to the Technical Specification for Content Development 5.1 for a full description of the related technical requirements.
